Democrats and al-Qaida really are Working Together

The latest video from Osama Bin Laden certainly has given us a lot to think and write about. News stories and Blog entries are flying fast and furiously on the Net. Here are just a few:

Associated Press: Bin Laden urges Americans to convert
Powerlines: Osama bin Chomsky
ABC News: Bush Says New Video a Reminder of Danger
Associated Press: Fred Thompson warns of al-Qaida threats
THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS: THE LEFTIST-JIHADIST CONVERGENCE IS NOT A THEORY - IT'S REALITY

And they do have a lot to discuss, mainly how much it appears that Osama appears to be working off of the Democrats play book. If you read a transcript of his speech it looks like he is quoting some of the speeches given by the Democrat Leadership these many months since his last speech.

He definitely appears to be endorsing their initiatives, or maybe its the Democrats endorsing Osama's initiatives. It is getting harder and harder to tell the difference.

For example... Before the surge started didn't both al-Qaida and the Democrat Leadership tell us the Iraq War was lost. And now that news reports tell us the surge is working, aren't both of them telling us that the news from Iraq isn't to be believed and the surge has failed and we need to retreat from Iraq.

Everything is not going well in their unholy alliance, Osama appears to be angry that the Democrats haven't been delivering on their promises, which makes me wonder if he isn't a member of MoveOn.org. In THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS: Democrats Not Following Orders Osama is quoted:

"People of America: the world is following your news in regards to your invasion of Iraq, for people have recently come to know that, after several years of tragedies of this war, the vast majority of you want it stopped. Thus, you elected the Democratic Party for this purpose, but the Democrats haven't made a move worth mentioning. On the contrary, they continue to agree to the spending of tens of billions to continue the killing and war there."
We are told that Osama uses his messages to pass instructions on to his subordinates and this time those subordinates appear to be the Democrats in Congress because now they are on an all out offensive to discredit General Petraeus and the report on the surge even before he has given his report to Congress. In ABC News Report: Democrats Already Discrediting Upcoming Petraeus Report:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said in his party's weekly radio address today that he expects the Petraeus report to be nothing more than the Bush administration's selective take on the surge.

"Before the report arrives in Congress, it will pass through the White House spin machine, where facts are often ignored or twisted, and intelligence is cherry-picked," said Reid.

On Friday, Reid went so far as to question not only the true source of the report but also the four-star general's honesty.

"He has made a number of statements over the years that have not proven to be factual," Reid said. "I have every belief that this good man will give us what he feels is the right thing to do in his report, but it's not his report anymore. It's Bush's report."

Reid's criticisms have been echoed by his fellow Democratic leaders in Congress.

In a speech Friday at the Center for National Policy, Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., said, "President Bush is preparing to tell the nation, once again, that his strategy in Iraq is succeeding. We know what the Bush-Petraeus report will say: The surge is working. Be patient. The reality is despite heroic efforts by U.S. troops, the Bush surge is not working."

Durbin, the majority whip, suggested the White House is twisting the facts to reach its desired conclusion.

"By carefully manipulating the statistics, the Bush-Petraeus report will try to persuade us that violence in Iraq is decreasing and thus the surge is working," he said. "Even if the figures were right, the conclusion is wrong."

And in Gateway Pundit: Media & Democrats Surge Against Surge Report:

There's some interesting projection by the liberal media today-
The New York Times headlines:

Hiding Behind the General --

President Bush, however, seems to be aiming for maximum political advantage — not maximum clarity on Iraq’s military and political crises, which cannot be separated from each other. Mr. Bush, we fear, isn’t looking for the truth, only for ways to confound the public, scare Democrats into dropping their demands for a sound exit strategy, and prolong the war until he leaves office. At times, General Petraeus gives the disturbing impression that he, too, is more focused on the political game in Washington than the unfolding disaster in Iraq. That serves neither American nor Iraqi interests.
And not only are they going after General Petraeus, MoveOn.Org is going after the Pro-Victory Democrats, thinking that they will need to get them back in line if they are going to be able to snatch Defeat from the teeth of Victory, and save Osama's hide. Check out this posting from GOP Bloggers: MoveOn Targeting Pro-Victory Liberals:

MoveOn.org is mad as hell with pro-victory Democrats and they aren't going to take it anymore. At least that's the message coming from this article:

MoveOn.org’s political action committee is close to declaring war on Democrats who support the administration’s policy in Iraq.

The liberal group announced it is sponsoring an online poll, surveying its members on whether they would support primary challenges to Democrats who side with President Bush on the Iraq war.

If at least 66 percent of its membership supports the goal, they will begin building up a war chest to help fund anti-war candidacies.

"There are a lot of Democrats in Congress who are Democrats In Name Only. They don't represent their constituents," reads the e-mail to the group's members.. "A lot of them have been in office for years and they think that they can vote however they want. That's just wrong."

It said it would only get involved in races where the majority of MoveOn members supported the primary challenger, and where the opponent has a reasonable chance at winning.

Did anyone ever think that people that wanted to defeat the jihadists would be political targets? Not that it was a big secret before but this is just additional confirmation that MoveOn.org thinks that their purpose is to bully politicians into following them or risk expulsion from Congress.
I'm getting real suspicious of the trip Speaker Pelosi made to Syria last spring, I want to know who all she and her aids talked to and what ties they had to al-Qaida if any. It isn't too early to get in touch with our Congressmen and let them know that we support Victory not Defeat in Iraq, the President and Military not the Democrats and al-Qaida.
