LifeStraw solves clean water problems worldwide.

For years and years we've been told that clean drinking water was the biggest problem faced by the earth's third world population. In an indication of just how radically a single technological development can change our perspective on a problem, take a look a the "LifeStraw", a $3 dollar gadget that provides its user a full year of purified drinking water. It's about a foot long and kills over 6000 types of common bacteria in the water sucked through it. Neat stuff and just another indication that things are getting better for everyone, thanks to technology. For more information take a look at the article by Conde Nast Traveler.
